The West Coast is the main vineyard area within the USA. We are searching through the wineries of Oregon and Washington State for some listings but, at the moment, the focus is on the main wine producing state of California.
Banish the likes of Gallo and Blossom Hill from your minds and you’ll find California has an amazing offering of wines of serious quality.
Whilst Pinot Noir, Cabernet Sauvignon and Chardonnay are the mainstay of the industry, their Zinfandels should not be missed and the works of eccentric winemakers such as Randall Grahm of Bonny Doon are inspirational. If you haven’t tried his Malvasia yet, you are missing out!
