This classic from the Plantation range is a great escape from the seemingly never ending winter. Sunshine in a glass with rich exotic flavours including banana, coconut and vanilla with a nice bit of barrel ageing to add back-bone.
Still one of my favourite local producers with a very strong range of styles including Golden Ale, Best Ale ,IPA and the fabulous Totty Pot Porter !
Our first tasting of 2010 was held at Flinty Red mid Feb and to great success! Half a pig was brought into the restaurant and masterfully butchered by local butcher Phil Noble. His skill was fascinating to watch. We then tasted varying parts of the pig including superb crispy ears and a mighty fine bacon icecream. Wines were served throught showing a diverse selection which matched beautifully to the pork. If you couldn't make this tasting and wish to know more about future tastings, just call or drop us a line.
We have been searching for a while for new wines from, what we believe to be, one of the most interesting New World producing countries. We have added 4 new wines to our range that we think fit the bill.
We have put together our calendar of Tastings for 2010. If you would like a copy, please call in the shop or our restaurant, Flinty Red 34 Cotham Hill. Alternatively send us an email and we can forward it on to you. All tastings are held at Flinty Red with reservations taken by payment up front.
